After having years of experience working in the food industry, and working with the art of making Teochew noodles, the owner of Chong Fat decided to bring the cherished food craft to Calgary.

Sung says his restaurant and its food are able to provide people with a sense of ‘home’.
Julia says she is able to find silver linings, “sometimes [it] feels very hard due to COVID, but I can spend lots of time with my kids in my business, so I’m happy”.

I still get up at six in the morning, go to the restaurant to prepare the broth…God knows how much I should prepare for today’s takeout orders…
